What Dod You Feed to a Reaper King to Tame It

Find out everything you need to know about the caveman in our guide to the Reaper in Ark Survival Evolved. But also how to catch him, tame him, feed him, and breed offspring too.
This is the Reaper in ARK: Survival Evolved
Appearance: Visually, the Reaper looks like a mix between a T-Rex and a Velonasaurus. It is large, has sharp teeth, and is covered in spikes.
Wild: Reapers are aggressive creatures that you often encounter in caves or in the dark, as light damages them. If you encounter a species that lives on the surface, no matter how far you run, it will pursue you until it gets light.
Here you can find the Reapers:
- R Variants: Found deep within Void in the Genesis ship.
- Surface Reaper Kings: Come from the underground, but can also be found on the surface. Your alphas, on the other hand, spawn directly on the surface.
- Subterranean Reaper Kings: This genus pops up when an Alpha Nameless (aka Chupacabra) has existed for too long. So, if you fight one and the fight goes on for too long, rest assured that the Reapers will show up.
- Elemental Reaper Kings: Spawn only in Rockwell Arena.
- Reaper Queens: Only spawn in the Element region.
- Corrupted Reaper Kings
Domesticated: A tamed reaper is a fast and efficient mount as well as a combat animal, as it is not only agile and powerful but also has the ability to spit acid as a ranged attack.
How to tame the Reaper in ARK
You cannot tame the Reaper Queen or the normal Reaper, but you can let the Reaper Queen impregnate you and then give birth to a Reaper King, which you can imprint on yourself by raising.
In order for this to go smoothly, you should have prepared enough meat and Reaper pheromones. Reaper Pheromone Glands are obtained by harvesting from defeated Reapers. Here applies: Better too much than too little! If you have enough of both in your inventory, you can set about building an enclosure.
For the enclosure, you build several TEK columns in a circle or square with a little distance from each other. Then make them as high as for a Spinosaurus. Place a minigun or catapult in front of one of the gaps as you need to shoot the Reaper Queen to a life value below 2000.
You can unlock the Minigun at level 94 and 35 engram points. It is crafted from the following resources in the Fabricator:
| You unlock the Catapult with level 31 and 25 engram points and craft it at the workbench with the following resources:
|
For ammunition, you take improved rifle ammunition, which you unlock at level 58 and 8 engram points and craft with the following resources in the fabricator:
| In the catapult's inventory, you craft the boulders from the following resources:
|
Now lure the Reaper Queen into the enclosure and as soon as she is inside, close the exit. Now keep shooting the Reaper Queen until her health is below 2000. Once you've done this, a pink mist will form around her, indicating she's ready to mate. Walk up to her and let her grab you, after which she fertilizes you. If you are fertilized, you will see the offspring XP on the bottom right, which you must first earn by defeating other creatures.
Get rid of the Reaper Queen first and aim to kill as many creatures as possible. You will also get the XP if you complete these tasks with a mount. When the time to collect the XP is up, you build a room around yourself that is about 2×2 walls. Discard your inventory except for the meat and the Reaper Pheromone Glands. The baby may attack and kill you.
When the pregnancy is so far advanced that you only have to wait 2 minutes, you eat the pheromone glands. The more you eat, the longer it works. The pheromone gland calms the baby and makes it easier to feed.
When the baby is born, put as much meat as possible in its inventory and raise it that way. Increase the enclosure as the Reaper King grows. When he's grown, you've made it and are the proud owner of a Reaper King.

How to breed the Reaper in ARK
![reaper-Baby - Guided](https://guided.news/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/reaper-Baby.png)
You can only breed Reapers by letting the Reaper Queen fertilize you again and again.
After a successful pairing, if you play on default settings, you are pregnant for about 12 hours. After these 12 hours, you can welcome the little Reaper baby into the world. As a baby, it takes up another 8 hours of your attention, during which you have to keep putting meat in its inventory to avoid becoming its meal. Pay attention to the embossing intervals every 8 hours to tickle the greatest potential out of the baby.
Once it gains juvenile status, it can feed on its own. The entire ripening period lasts about 3 days and 5 hours.
